Zola the Zulu Girl

My name is Percy Shozi, I grew up in #Durban (South Africa). I'm a #children's #author, #singer, #songwriter, #multiinstrumentalist, #authorcoach, #musicteacher and #pianoteacher.

When I was in school I searched high and low for books with authors that have my skin colour. When I hardly found them, I decided to #write my own #stories about my #culture.

I wanted to tell my #story mainly because I believe that my voice needs to be heard. I've learnt a lot about other people from different countries through their #stories written in #books. I wanted them to #learn about me and where I'm from through books as well.

#ZolatheZuluGirl is a #book #series about a #young #South #African girl with a dad from #South #Africa and a #mum from #Melbourne #Australia
